Details
As a Release Train Engineer, you are the driver on a train of collaborating Agile Teams. Although such an Agile Release Train (ART) consists of self-organizing and self-managing teams, it does not run on autopilot. As a servant leader and coach for the ART, you facilitate ART events and processes and help teams deliver value. You communicate with stakeholders, escalate obstacles, help manage risk, and push teams to improve relentlessly.
This three-day course prepares Release Train Engineers to use SAFe® thinking to create an environment to incrementally deliver value in a large-scale Lean-Agile enterprise environment. You’ll learn to execute and continuously improve PI Planning and other key SAFe® events. You’ll discover how to coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in new processes and ways of thinking. And you’ll gain experience with tools you need to work effectively with distributed teams.
- Leading ARTs and large solutions in a SAFe organization
- Applying Lean-Agile knowledge and tools to release value

- Building a high-performing ART by acting as a servant leader and coach
- Planing for and executing a Planning Interval (PI) of 10 weeks
After following this training you will be able to:
- Make management choices that are in line with a scaled application of a Lean-Agile and Scrum way of working
- Have multiple teams work together in a multidisciplinary and self-organizing manner to arrive at customer-oriented solutions
- Initiate a process of continuous improvement across multiple teams
- Assess in which areas you still need to gain additional knowledge and experience in order to be able to successfully apply SAFe®
- Achieve ScaledAgile® SAFe RTE® certification
