Goal

Get a joint picture of Scrum and investigate which parts in your team deserve more attention to improve the way of working.

Description

Scrum is a framework for self-organization of Agile teams. There is a lot to tell about Scrum, but we refer to other sources for this. A good starting point is http://www.scrumguides.org where you can find the 13-page Scrum Guide (in dozens of languages, including Dutch).

To Work

How to use the dialogue sheet, provided for this technique.

  1. Place the dialogue worksheet on a table for the team members to sit around. In step 1 lay the manual for working with a worksheet. Make sure each team member has a marker.
  2. Read the manual working with a worksheet if you have not worked with a worksheet before.
  3. Go through the worksheet step by step, with the team members taking turns reading and facilitating a question.

As a manager/scrum master/coach/facilitator you are fully involved in your team. It is a pity that you cannot participate in the Retrospective because you are too busy facilitating. In that situation, a dialogue worksheet offers a solution. A dialogue worksheet is a large A1 sheet of questions that help the team go through the steps for a retrospective independently. With this you put the retrospective in the hands of your team and you have room to participate fully yourself or to observe the team.
